As the global climate crisis rises people are turning to the wood for respite recovery and community. These sacred open spaces are important for conserving nature and a growing community seeking wild places. This wild woodland grew by itself after Victorian slum buildings were long gone and World War 1 veterans allotments became disused. Starting this photographic project in winter where nature is defined by the edges of the landscape and disturbances to ground cover with invasive species ( Japonica Fallopia, Knotweed). These edges influence forest structures the herbaceous perennials of saplings seedlings and newly planting of canopy trees are an important part of maintaining and regenerating nature.
