We now have the keys for a new artist space in York. Brakenhill, just one mile outside the city centre, covers 9,200 sq ft of space and will include 22 studio / office spaces plus two rehearsal spaces.

Brakenhill Creative Space came about from the motivation to repurpose empty spaces and hand them over to artists. With a charitable mission to support and champion artists, we are using our extensive UK network to build connections and access spaces. Offered on a temporary basis and at low-cost, spaces are available for studios, projects, events, exhibitions, workshops, rehearsals and storage.
Our ambition is:
- To support and nurture artists
- To explore engagement outside traditional art spaces
- To share and amplify the activities of artists
- To use creativity to bring life back to empty spaces
